Job Description

This is a 12-month mandate based in Fès, Morocco.


The mandate is part of the Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP) Equality in Action, which is being implemented in 12 countries and 3 regions over an eight-year period (2020–2028). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in the countries of intervention in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable initiatives that advance gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, which work with the most vulnerable and marginalized populations, in claiming and exercising their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of all its actions.


Your daily responsibilities will include:

In close collaboration with the Oxfam team in Morocco and the partner organization Alilm Nour, the advisor will be responsible for:

  • Training the Ilm Nour association team to update the association's website (news, photos, publications, recommendations, etc.).
  • Supporting the online publication of the association's various projects (recommendation tables, reports, visuals).
  • Structuring content to improve the accessibility and attractiveness of the website.
  • Co-creating a short user guide or simple tutorials for regular use.
  • Training the team to design and develop a website (architecture, design, features, hosting, security).


To be eligible for this mandate, you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
  • Hold a university degree in computer science.
  • Have at least 2 years of professional experience in website development and online content management.
  • Proficiency in web content management tools (Content Management System (CMS), particularly WordPress or equivalent.
  • Experience in training or educational support, particularly with non-technical audiences.
  • Good knowledge of digital communication and visual content structuring.
  • Ability to explain and document technical processes in a clear manner.
  • Collaborative spirit, autonomy and rigour.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French.


What we offer:

  • Monthly allowance for your living expenses;
  • 20% bonus on the living allowance for an accompanying child (maximum of 2 children).
  • CAD 1,500 per year/per child for schooling.
  • A monthly amount for rent;
  • Return flight ticket with 2 pieces of checked baggage;
  • Return airfare for accompanying child(ren).
  • CAD 200 for additional baggage;
  • Advantageous medical insurance for you and accompanying child(ren).
  • A volunteer support programme during your assignment and for up to two months after your return to Canada;
  • 20 days of vacation and other leave;
  • Access to various training courses (e-learning, etc.).
