This is a 12-month regional mandate for Oxfam in Africa based in Senegal or Ghana
Here's what your daily life will look like:
In close collaboration with Oxfam's Climate justice team members, you will be responsible to:
• Work with diverse range of country offices and partners in supporting climate justice/adaptation programs funding, partner led implementation and adherence to donor guidelines.
• Assist in identifying potential funding opportunities and donors aligned with climate justice funding. Support in building and maintaining relationships with donors and affiliates.
• Assist in monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, compiling narrative and financial reports, and making recommendations for improvement.
• Support in drafting donor reports in line with the provided donor reporting requirements and reporting timelines.
• Contribute to the design of fundraising strategies that reflect Oxfam in Africa’s mission.
For this mandate you must:
• Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
• Have university degree in environmental studies, International Development, Political Science, Social Sciences, Human Rights, or a related field.;
• Have 3 years of experience in climate justice, environmental advocacy, or related fields,
• Demonstrated ability in fundraising, including resource mobilization, proposal development, and identifying potential funding sources within the nonprofit sector
• Be fluent in English, spoken and written (required);
• Master the Office suite.
What we offer:
• Monthly allowance for living expenses. 20% increase in living allowance for an accompanying child (maximum of 2 children). 1,500$ CAN per year/per child for schooling.
• Monthly amount for rent;
• Round trip flight with 2 checked luggages; - Round trip flight for accompanying child(ren).
• 200$ CAD for additional luggage;
• Advantageous medical insurance for you and the accompanying child(ren);
• A volunteer support program during your mandate and up to two months after your return to Canada;
