This position is required to maintain the cleanliness of the Walker’s Point and Torrance community centre facilities for public use bookings and events.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• General housekeeping duties including but not limited to; dusting and sanitizing surfaces and stocking supplies.

• Regular and complete kitchen and washroom cleaning.

• Floor cleaning and maintenance including; wet and dry mopping, polishing and scrubbing floors, stripping and re-finishing floor surfaces.

• Weekly garbage and recycling collection and removal.

• Snow removal, salting and sanding as required (where 2 inches or more of snow accumulates) for safety.

• Operation of equipment such as snow blowers, floor buffers, auto scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners

• Pest control including; setting and clearing various traps and auditory devices.

• Lead annual deep cleaning of facility including windows, fixtures and doors. • Perform related duties as required for the daily operations of the site.

• Assist with arranging physical set up for site rentals and activities

• Maintain logs and files and report any building maintenance issues.

• Follow assigned cleaning schedules to maintain expected standards of cleanliness.

• Follow Township health and safety practices and procedures.

Qualifications And Experience

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

• 2-3 year cleaning experience, including experience with cleaning machinery

• Ability to prioritize the completion of task

• Self-directed and able to follow directions and perform work duties with limited supervision

• Standard First Aid and CPR training

• Valid Ontario driver’s license

• Lifting of up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds regularly

Hours of Work:

• Approximately 10-15 hours per week
