Magil Canada Construction is looking for an Finishing Superintendent for our Richmond, BC division!!

The Finishing Superintendent is responsible for providing overall on-site management, administrative direction, and technical direction on project construction. This role involves coordinating with various teams, including, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure that all finishing aspects of the project meet quality, safety, and timeline requirements.

Responsabilités

RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ Low-rise residential concrete structure finishing from start to finish. Implement and enforce strict quality control standards to ensure that finishing work meets design and code specifications.

▪ All finishing aspects including commissioning, testing and quality assurance and quality control.

▪ Hold employees and trade subcontractors accountable for safety performance.

▪ Develop and maintain a project plan and construction schedule, in conjunction with the project team, to manage employee and trade subcontractor activities.

▪ Ensure that the project plan and schedule are executed within budget and that the work is completed in compliance with the design requirements. Oversee the completion of all finishing-related tasks and ensure that the project is ready for occupancy.

▪ Review trade subcontractor scopes of work and schedules.

▪ Participate in weekly trade subcontractor meetings and distribute the minutes to the project team.

▪ Develop and maintain two week look ahead schedules and distribute to the project team.

▪ Complete thorough daily reports that accurately track site progress, events, inspections, and other relevant information to be submitted to the office.

▪ Ensure an adequate number of photographs showing progress and issues of concern are taken weekly and submitted to the office.

▪ Review total job cost reports including labor costs with the Project Manager monthly.

▪ Coordinate all field engineering and inspections.

▪ Monitor and effectively manage all rental equipment.

▪ Ensure that all materials are supplied and work is completed in compliance with the projects quality control program.

▪ Ensure trade subcontractor commission of equipment and systems is completed as per specifications.

▪ On-site performance management and disciplinary measures of direct hires when necessary.

▪ Ensure weekly timesheets for direct hires are submitted weekly to the office.

▪ Ensure all deficiencies are corrected in a timely matter. Advise senior management of potential problems at early stages and assist in their resolution.

Qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QAULIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

▪ 10-15 years of experience in low rise condo interior finishing.

▪ 2 year Construction related degree/diploma.

▪ Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and trade sequencing.

▪ Having ambition to step into a future role of running the entire project.

▪ Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire construction teams.

▪ Knowledge of WorkSafe BC legislation, BC employment legislation, the Human Rights Code, the BC Building Code and experience on dealing with the City of Vancouver inspectors.

▪ In-depth knowledge of the construction industry operations, specifications, building materials, methods, and procedures.

▪ In-depth knowledge of building codes and construction practices.

▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.

▪ Proven ability to understand scopes of work and ensure alignment to budget and schedule.

▪ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project.

▪ Gold Seal/ Red Seal (Carpenter) Certification would be an asset.

▪ LEED® accreditation would be an asset.

▪ Ability to travel a must.
