Job description

Reporting to the Director, Preconstruction Services, this position will create, maintain, update, and manage critical project schedules for project pursuits as well as on-going construction projects. This position will liaison between the estimating and project management teams and all other stakeholders to meet organizational targets.


  • Create, update, and maintain the project schedule with input from project team
  • Work closely with project controls including Procore and financial software
  • Determine a realistic schedule and identify constraints based on discussion with technical and business teams
  • Develop realistic project timelines based on production rates and available staffing by communicating with technical and business teams
  • Assign resources (cost, labour, equipment, and materials) to activities and develop cash flow reports and resource histograms
  • Evaluate critical and near critical path activity sequence  Assess actual progress based on site inspections
  • Identify schedule changes and trends
  • Develop earned value reports
  • Make recommendations on changes to projects and/or develop recovery plans when delays occur or are anticipated
  • Prepare time and cost delay claims
  • Prepare integrated planning/scheduling contribution to the project controls Monthly Project Report and specific reports/presentations
  • Support risk allocation and value engineering workshops
  • Prepare post construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reports
  • Identify major milestones, critical approvals, and long lead procurement items
  • Perform any other task related to the position


  • College diploma (technical in civil engineering, architecture, project management) or bachelor’s in engineering
  • 10+ years experience in a scheduling role in the Construction industry
  • Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with project management software
  • Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders and the ability to present information to a group
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration ability
  • Excellent organization and time management ability
  • Valid driver license for Ontario
