Le poste
L’architecte en architecture sénior.e est responsable de développer et de concevoir des documents techniques tels que des plans, des devis, des estimations de coûts et des dessins d’exécution. Cette personne doit également par sa séniorité assumer un rôle de leadership auprès de la relève (intermédiaires et juniors) : réviser les dessins d’atelier, identifier des problématiques d’un point de vue de la construction et mentorer au besoin. Il ou elle devra être une référence et aura une vue sur l’ensemble du projet de l'étape conceptuelle à l’assistance au chantier. Les compétences clés du rôle sont d'écouter, d'analyser, de valider, de travailler en équipe, de résoudre des problèmes et de pouvoir gérer plusieurs projets simultanément.

The Position
The Senior Architect is responsible for developing and producing technical documents such as plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction drawings. By virtue of their seniority, this role also involves assuming a leadership position with emerging professionals (intermediate and junior staff): reviewing shop drawings, identifying construction-related issues, and providing mentorship as needed. The Senior Architect serves as a technical reference and maintains an overall view of the project from the conceptual phase through construction administration. Key competencies for this role include listening, analyzing, validating, teamwork, problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor less experienced colleagues and act as a bridge between senior, intermediate, and junior team members;
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and proactive listening skills in order to understand, creatively resolve, and accurately respond to the needs of all stakeholders;
- Be a reliable and flexible team partner who performs well under pressure and meets objectives in a dynamic environment;
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (engineering, clients, consultants, specialists, etc.).
- The Profile We Are Looking For Member of the Ordre des architectes du Québec (OAQ);
- 10 years of experience or more;
- Proven experience in coaching and mentoring;
- Experience managing a team (2 to 3 people);
- Demonstrated experience on multiple diversified projects across all phases, ideally projects that have been built;
- Strong technical knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit;
- Solid knowledge of the Québec Building Code;
- Strong understanding of North American building envelope principles (cold/northern climate).
Job Description
- Take responsibility for projects across all technical phases through to construction administration (plans/drawings, specifications, cost estimates), and participate in their design;
- Contribute to the preparation of construction and fit-out cost estimates;
- Identify and resolve issues related to building code compliance;
- Calculate floor areas and perform quantity take-offs;
- Develop construction details;
- Lead and coordinate the production of construction drawings (preliminary and final phases);
- Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination meetings with external stakeholders;
- Coordinate the production of plans, specifications, and construction details;
- Master all tasks related to construction site supervision;
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with your team and clients.
