Position Summary

You will be responsible for content development in support of UHN Foundation’s strategic plan and vision. As part of this role, you will work directly with colleagues, health care professionals, hospital partners, patients, donors and other members of UHN to create content and manage the content development process. You are an action-oriented professional, a creative problem solver and a team player. You have experience working in complex organizations and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to achieve a common goal. You also have a demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines while consistently delivering high-quality content and persuasive storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop content across various program areas, audiences and channels including donor proposals, program overviews, stewardship reports, presentations, web stories, social media posts, donor emails and other content as required to support fundraising goals
  • Translate complex concepts from various content sources into visually appealing, digestible content tailored for donor channels and audiences
  • Bring forward innovative content ideas and strategies on messaging and channels as well as provide advice to project teams from a content perspective
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders across UHN Foundation and UHN to manage multiple projects, deadlines and the content development process across different fundraising revenue streams.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external marketing, digital and design teams and/or suppliers as required
  • Champion the UHN Foundation brand by adhering to brand guidelines, internal writing style guides and the Canadian Press Style guide
  • Support the Foundation’s strategic plan and vision and uphold the Foundation’s values of collaboration, accountability, inclusion and integrity

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, communications, journalism, scientific or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, scientific communications, public relations, media relations, marketing, or journalism. Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong creative skills with an understanding how to write and visualize content for various communication channels (video, social media, etc.)
  • A proven track record for creating and implementing best-in-class communication within an organization with multiple stakeholders, including external and internal
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail and aptitude for engaging donors
  • Experience building trusted partner relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Proven ability to build and sustain strong working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders as well as work independently and with ambiguity to achieve results
  • Proven ability to prioritize, plan and manage projects within established deadlines
  • Highly proficient in the use of all corporate productivity tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or other design programs preferred
  • CRM or other donor database experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with monday.com is considered an asset

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, service and results oriented environment
  • May have some activity outside of the office to support meetings with volunteers and donors
  • The Foundation has a hybrid work model. Staff will be required to have a safe home office set-up 3-4 days per week and will be in office for 1-2 days per week, (specifics to be planned with your manager.)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in all positions throughout the Foundation
  • Shared commitment and support of the overall Foundation goals
