Overview and Key Accountabilities

The Development Officer, Community Engagement for the Community Giving team is responsible to ensure a seamless donor experience and works cross-collaboratively across the Foundation to drive.

Reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement and working with members of the Community Giving team, this role supports Community Engagement programs that include Staff Engagement, Lotteries, and Commemorative Giving programs.

Primary Responsibilities

Revenue Generation

  • Working with the Manager, Community Engagement and Development Officer, Community Giving on fundraising activities
  • Execute fundraising campaigns and donor communications.
  • Oversee fulfillment of fundraising programs including managing external vendors
  • Coordinate with donors to ensure a positive and consistent donor experience for Community Engagement products
  • Build strong relationships with the hospital to ensure opportunities to promote the Foundation and ways of giving to new and existing staff
  • Support monthly raffle draw activities

Data and Reporting

  • Extensive data management for monthly lottery file for MNP
  • Monitor portfolio performance including preparing and sharing ongoing KPI reports
  • Work closely with operations teams to improve processes and reporting

Administration

  • Maintain lottery donor files in accordance with ACGO requirements to ensure smooth operations of the of monthly 50/50 staff lottery 
  • Maintain invoice tracking and fulfillment for programs
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support donor gift fulfillment
  • Ensure all files related are maintained and in good working order
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested

Position Requirements

Technical knowledge/skills requirements

  • A relevant 4-year degree or, a relevant 3-year degree/diploma combined with a professional certification or, an equivalent combination of formal education and relevant experience.
  • 3 years of experience in administrative coordination/support and collaborating with senior professional fundraising staff and volunteers
  • Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office products and internet tools. Familiarity with and aptitude for Raiser’s Edge /NXT a strong asset
  • Experience working directly with lottery is preferred
  • Highly organized, systematic and able to prioritize, schedule and perform complex tasks on time and with minimal supervision
  • Exemplary attention to detail with excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Resilient and focused
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, and ability to confidently interact with individuals at all levels
  • Efficient while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong strategic aptitude with a demonstrated ability to problem solve and handle a diverse range of assignments with multiple timelines
  • Resourceful and self-motivated while remaining comfortable collaborating within a framework of a goal-oriented team environment
  • Possess a professional and mature presence with evidence of leadership, sound judgement intuitiveness, tact and diplomacy.

Work Environment

  • Fast pace, service and results oriented environment.
  • May have some activity outside of the office to support meetings with volunteers and sponsors.
  • The Foundation has a hybrid work model. Staff will be required to have a safe home office set-up 2-3 days per week and will be in office for 1-2 days per week, (specifics to be planned with your manager.)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in all positions throughout the Foundation.
  • Shared commitment and support of the overall Foundation goals.
