SALARY RANGE: $153,000 - $158,000 per annum

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Digital Fundraising is responsible for leading the Foundation’s enterprise-wide digital strategy across all digital channels and audiences to advance audience engagement, drive fundraising growth across multiple programs. This role sets the vision and roadmap for digital performance ensuring alignment across all paid channels, email and web assets with a deep digital expertise at the core. The Director brings a strong command of digital marketing, data and technology to enable high-performing audience-centric campaigns across a full funnel.
Working cross-functionally with Fundraising, brand & Creative, Communications and Operations teams, this role ensures cohesive execution, optimized channel performance and a modern, digital first approach.
As a senior strategic leader, this role oversees the digital marketing strategy and marketing technology leading a department of 7. The Director is accountable for building operational excellence and delivering measurable impact across the organization’s digital ecosystem.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Lead the organization-wide full funnel digital fundraising strategy to drive brand awareness, audience engagement and fundraising growth across all digital channels including paid media, email, web and emerging platforms.
- Serve as the organization’s digital marketing subject matter expert, ensuring best-in-class approach to platform usage and optimization along with the acquisition, engagement and conversion of all digital channels
- Develop and oversee an annual and campaign level plans, aligning channel strategies and investments to fundraising and organizational priorities across teams
- Oversee internal media planning and budget optimizations bringing together channel investments to maximize performance efficiency
- Establish clear KPI’s testing frameworks and performance benchmarks with a strong emphasis on digital measurement and optimization
- Champion a framework to evaluate and improve donor experience online.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Serve as central strategic partner to fundraising teams, embedding digital early in campaign design to deliver campaigns that meet program goals
- Act as the internal lead for digital fundraising innovation, partnering with stakeholders across Fundraising, Marketing & Communications and Operations teams to align strategies and ensure integrated donor experiences.
- Lead the development of integrated, multi-channel campaigns to new audiences, with a digital-first mindset and strong alignment across teams.
- Support department leads with campaign planning by advising on segmentation strategy, content direction, and digital integration.
- Partner with Brand & Creative to ensure alignment on brand and storytelling to support organizational priorities and fundraising objectives
- Work closely with Operations to ensure digital infrastructure and tools support effective campaign delivery and tracking.
- Foster a one-team approach that balances program specific needs with organizational priorities
- Influence and align senior stakeholders through clear communication, strategic insight and data-informed recommendations
- Ensure effective intake, prioritization and delivery of digital initiatives across the Foundation
Data, Insights & ROI
- Oversee performance measurement across all digital activities to refine strategy and optimize return on investment (ROI).
- Maintain reporting frameworks and dashboard that provide actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders
- Leverage audience data, segmentation and behavioural insights to inform targeting and optimization strategies
- Champion a culture of testing and continuous improvement, build on data-driven decision making across the team
- Identify trends, opportunities, to improve campaign effectiveness and ROI
Leadership & Capability Building
- Provide mentorship and strategic guidance across departments to enhance execution, alignment, and professional development.
- Set clear expectations, develop team goals, and align performance plans to long-term digital fundraising priorities.
- Refine processes, workflows and governance models to support operational excellence and scalability
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation and continuous learning
- Manage external agencies and partners, ensuring alignment to a strategy, performance expectations and organizational goals
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 7-10 years of progressive experience and at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience leading digital fundraising or digital marketing strategy in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Strong digital and marketing technology experience working with email marketing, donation processing, website and paid media platforms.
- Deep knowledge of donor acquisition, testing and conversion tactics, channel optimization, and audience segmentation.
- Strong collaborative leadership style with a demonstrated ability to influence and align across departments.
- Experience with web analytics, fundraising platforms, CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge), and marketing automation.
- Excellent team development, coaching, and performance management capabilities.
- Experience managing external digital agencies and partners to drive results.

- Fast-paced, service and results oriented environment
- May have some activity outside of the office to support meetings
- The Foundation has a hybrid work model. Staff will be required to be in office a minimum of 2 days per week and will be required to have a safe home office set up for the remainder of the working days (specifics to be planned with your manager).
