Position Summary

With the continued evolution of UHN Foundation’s data management and analytic environment, following the strategy and direction outlined by the Manager, Database & Integrations, the Senior Database Administrator will be accountable for the day-to-day needs relating to the foundation’s donor database (RE NXT). With the Foundation’s focus on diversification of revenue and acquisition, this new role will play an important part in helping achieve our ambitious goals. The successful candidate will have a high level of technical proficiency with donor databases, and a strong commitment to data integrity.

Position Accountabilities

  • Support records management, including record creation and updates.
  • Build complex queries and data exports to support various fundraising efforts (e.g., direct mail, mass email, stewardship).
  • Create mass data import profiles and support the Gifts Processing team’s use of the imports for gifts originating from platforms such as Luminate Online and Funraisin; ensure the import profiles and work supported by the team comply with the Foundation’s data entry standards.
  • Perform data imports and build/run various data processes to integrate, clean, and maintain large datasets from various sources; ensure accuracy and completeness when importing data.
  • Responsible for regular database hygiene and maintenance activities; includes duplicate management and periodic data audits of the database to ensure compliance with Foundation data entry business rules. Report on audit outcomes and recommend user training to improve data quality.
  • Enhance skills related to new Raiser’s Edge NXT functionality/tools as needed. Provide support for roll-out of new functionality for Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Contribute to design and implementation of new database integrations, helping leverage database functionality and associated tools to support the organization’s efforts.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and training materials related to data management and database processes.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience with donor data systems in a non-profit fundraising setting required. A strong preference for related experience using Raiser’s Edge (NXT specifically).
  • Experience with database integration tools including ImportOmatic/Omatic Cloud (IOM), PaperSave and NXT plug-ins strongly preferred.
  • Online giving platform experience as it relates to data imports, with a preference for Luminate Online. Experience with Blackbaud donation forms and/or Funraisin platform would be a benefit.
  • Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • 3-5 years working with professional fundraising staff, volunteers and/or donors; strong preference for experience in hospital foundation or similar complex non-profit environment.
  • Must possess knowledge of data privacy laws and data governance principals and have the ability to apply them in their work. Knowledge of fundraising professional standards and ethics.

  • The Foundation has a hybrid work model. This position will be required to be in office 2 days per week and have a safe home office set-up 3 days per week (specifics to be directed by your manager and according to your duties.)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in all positions throughout the Foundation.
