Position summary

Are you detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about making a difference? Join the UHN Foundation as a key player on our growing Corporate Partnerships team! As the Development Officer, Corporate Partnerships, you’ll work closely with the Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships to drive meaningful collaborations with some of Canada’s top companies.

This dynamic role offers the opportunity to grow with us as our partnerships expand and new opportunities emerge. You’ll use your creativity and meticulous attention to detail to craft compelling partnership offerings, conduct strategic research, and support innovative philanthropic initiatives that fund life-saving healthcare at UHN. From uncovering new partnership opportunities to managing existing relationships, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare through impactful corporate collaborations.

Therefore, we’re looking for someone with strong organizational, research, and communication skills who is passionate about supporting partnerships and eager to develop their relationship management expertise. Responsibilities

Leadership Support:

  • Assist the Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships with daily tasks, including (but not limited to) data management using Raiser’s Edge, drafting donor correspondence, managing complex calendars, and scheduling meetings.

Prospect and Partnership Development:

  • Support the development of engagement strategies, cultivation activities and solicitation meetings.
  • Maintain a well-organized prospect pipeline with partner profiles, histories, and engagement plans.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to produce materials such as proposals, cases for support, impact reports, and meeting notes.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to gather information for proposals and reports.
  • Implement and execute approved strategies aimed at increasing support for the current fundraising Campaign
  • Assess needs and contribute to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and recognition. Develop tailored fundraising initiatives that support strategic initiatives.
  • Manage a portfolio of existing donors, as well as develop a pipeline of potential new donors.
  • Identify potential new prospects through prospecting research, physician referrals, grant connect and assess stakeholder interest, and viability.
  • Support the development and execution of tailored fundraising initiatives and recognition plans.
  • Build and maintain a strong knowledge of hospital programs and priorities to align fundraising efforts.

Corporate Partnership Stewardship:

  • Track engagement activities with corporate partners and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Conduct research to identify new corporate partnership opportunities aligned with UHN Foundation’s priorities.
  • Analyze industry trends, potential partners, and corporate social responsibility initiatives to maintain a detailed prospect pipeline. • Prepare engagement strategies, and plan, schedule and conduct cultivation and solicitation meetings.
  • Assist in the development of and ensure the appropriateness and quality of all necessary materials, proposals, cases for support, letters, reports and acknowledgements for cultivation and stewardship of donors.
  • Draft various types of donor correspondence.
  • Develop strategic touch points for donors to inform them of initiatives that align with their giving such as research and clinical breakthroughs, events, and webinars
  • Identify ways to recognize and steward donors for their contributions, including thank you calls and written communications.
  • Work with clinicians and program writer to develop and present proposals that enable the donor to make informed decision regarding their support.

Database and Information Management:

  • Ensure all donor touchpoints and moves management actions are captured within the Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Manage data in Raiser’s Edge, including entering, updating, and retrieving information to support the development cycle and generate reports.
  • Update donor agreements and respond to requests from internal teams, donors, and volunteers.

Administrative Support and Meeting Coordination:

  • Assist with planning and logistics for donor meetings and events, including invitations, scheduling, and follow-up communications.
  • Provide logistical support at cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship events.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support partnership activities as needed.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information from colleagues, hospital staff, donors and volunteers.
  • Other duties consistent with job classification.

Requirements

  • A relevant 4-year degree/diploma or, an equivalent combination of formal education and relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in fundraising or administrative coordination/support and collaborating with senior professional fundraising staff and volunteers, ideally with focus on corporate partnerships.
  • Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office products and internet tools. Familiarity with and aptitude for Raiser’s Edge required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders 
  • Exemplary attention to detail with excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and handle multiple timelines
  • Strong strategic aptitude with a demonstrated ability to problem solve and handle a diverse range of assignments with multiple timelines 
  • Resourceful and self-motivated while remaining comfortable collaborating within a framework of a goal-oriented team environment 
  • Possess a professional and mature presence with evidence of leadership, sound judgement intuitiveness, tact and diplomacy.

Work Environment

  • Fast pace, service and results oriented environment.
  • May have some activity outside of the office to support meetings with volunteers and sponsors.
  • The Foundation has a hybrid work model. Staff will be required to have a safe home office set-up 3-4 days per week and will be in office for 1-2 days per week, (specifics to be planned with your manager.)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in all positions throughout the Foundation.
