ABOUT US

For more than 30 years, LIHC has provided health and social services to those who experience barriers to care including poverty, homelessness, language or culture, and complex and/or chronic health conditions including mental health and addictions.

Today, with five busy clinics in three of London’s most under-served neighborhoods, the organization is viewed as a community leader in client-led service development and the advancement of partnerships improving access to vital services for people who are at the margins in our community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role works together with 1-2 other specialists greeting callers and visitors, providing information, and directing inquiries to the appropriate place. Checking clients in and booking their next appointment as well as offering administrative support to clinicians (resource sharing, chart management, scanning/faxing) means this position is critical to smooth clinical flow.

The Medical Secretary plays a key role in maintaining the overall welcoming tone of the reception area and responds effectively to problems and difficult situations that may arise. As the first point of contact for clients, this role must be sensitive to the barriers that many individuals face when accessing health care services. This position involves a high regard for confidentiality and compassionate understanding; high attention to detail is crucial.
