Multiple positions available; opportunity to work within different sites / programs

Working to full scope supported by multiple medical directives, the RN provides comprehensive primary care nursing as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on the needs of people who are significantly marginalized. The RN conducts analyses of health behaviours related to lifestyle and culture, review of clients’ medical history, physical assessments, and in collaboration with the client, development and implementation of person-centred care plans.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary diploma (RN) or degree (BScN) from a recognized college or university
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a community setting or a combination of community and hospital/public health
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds with an inclusive and anti-oppressive lens
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, including the use of Office 365 products and Electronic Medical Records (Telus Practice Solutions Suite currently in use)

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Awareness and understanding of the social determinants of health and health promotion
  • Ability to practice from social justice, trauma and violence informed care, and harm reduction frameworks
  • Clinical knowledge of mental health care, substance use, concurrent disorders, dual diagnoses, and application of current best practices, assessments and interventions
  • Experience in mental health care and working with people experiencing substance use disorders and homelessness
  • Demonstrated effective crisis prevention, intervention and stabilization skills
  • Flexibility to work both in clinic and out in the community
  • Ability to work alongside partner agencies
  • Demonstrated phlebotomy skills
  • French and other language skills are considered an asset in supporting the communities we serve
