The Opportunity

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment within the manufacturing facility to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The role supports production by maintaining electrical and control systems, including automation and PLC-based equipment, and contributes to preventive maintenance and continuous improvement activities.

What You Will Do
  • Perform electrical installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair PLCs, drives, and industrial control systems.
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance activities to support equipment performance and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment and process optimization and collaborate on upgrades and improvements.
  • Proactively address maintenance issues to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
  • Document maintenance activities and findings to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with OHSA requirements, the Electrical Safety Code, and company health and safety standards.
  • Support mechanical maintenance activities when required.

What You Bring

Required

  • 2 to 4 years of experience working as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or process plant environment.
  • Valid Ontario Industrial Electrician License: 442A and/or 309A.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of PLCs, automation, and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code and Ontario Building Code.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills related to industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English in a manufacturing environment.
  • Applies effective problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve electrical and automation issues.
  • Makes sound decisions to restore equipment functionality and minimize downtime.

Assets

  • Experience with automated packaging systems, energy management, power monitoring, or green energy technologies.
  • Experience performing high-voltage maintenance.
  • Familiarity with life safety systems, electrical load management, and building systems.
  • Established working relationship with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).
  • Certifications such as Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), TPS, or RCM.
  • Safety-related certifications, including: WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Working at Heights, First Aid/CPR, and Confined Spaced Entry.
  • Experience with automation systems, CMMS, and power monitoring systems.
  • Experience in highly automated or safety-critical manufacturing environments.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and industrial machinery.
  • The role requires standing, walking, and physical activity, including working with tools and equipment, and may involve repetitive motions.
  • Physical demands may include lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces, as required to perform maintenance and repair activities safely.
  • The position may require shift work, overtime, and on-call availability, based on operational needs.
  • No travel is required for this role.
What We Offer

Compensation

The expected hourly rate for this position is $44 per hour. This position will be eligible for a merit increase in August, 2026. Additional premiums may apply, including evening, night, weekend, or other shift premiums where applicable.
