Based in Halifax since 1966, Atlantica, a member of the Cahill Group, is one of the largest mechanical and electrical contractors in the Maritimes. Equipped with leading-edge technologies, Atlantica’s highly skilled workforce executes a wide range of mechanical and electrical construction projects from design and fabrication to fire protection and maintenance services throughout a building’s life cycle to provide customized solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities:

You will work closely with and report directly to the Vice President – Cape Breton. Within this exciting and collaborative environment, you will:

  • Execute, monitor, and oversee all aspects (including safety, quality, commercial and technical) of assigned projects to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
  • Support the pursuit of potential projects, including assisting in estimate preparation and bidding.
  • Develop an execution plan and schedule for each project.
  • Facilitate comprehensive risk identification and risk management before and during project execution.
  • Foster open and trusting client relationships to ensure collaborative project delivery aligned with client requirements.
  • Ensure all required materials, equipment and craft personnel are on site within established schedule and budget constraints.
  • Supervise project teams consisting of craft and staff personnel.
  • Produce regular project reports and dashboard summaries and maintain registers for shop drawings, change orders, RFIs, etc.
  • Prepare and manage the change process, ensuring timely approvals of all changes to project scope and schedule.
  • Be responsible for promoting a culture of health, safety and environmental accountability and actively contribute to Cahill’s objective of zero lost-time accidents.
  • Identify any unique safety hazards at project start and as site conditions change, collaborate with HSE Advisors to develop and implement action plans.
  • Foster a productive and respectful environment for all staff and craft personnel.

Who are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in commercial construction and technical knowledge in the Mechanical discipline are required.
  • Five or more years of Project Management experience.
  • Multi-discipline knowledge and experience are an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification is an asset.
