Cahill Industrial Limited is seeking qualified applicants for an Electrical Quality Control Lead to support our collaborative team in Western Canada. As the Electrical Quality Control Lead with Cahill, you will play an integral role in development, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company’s Quality Management Systems. Your thorough knowledge will allow you to provide project specification oversight and identify any potential and/or existing problems pertaining to Quality to ensure accuracy of reports.

As an Electrical Quality Control Lead, you implement and maintain project-specific quality plans along with the required policies and procedures to ensure they meet project-specific requirements. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, which will allow you to build strong, professional work relationships with our key clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities on project-related issues. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help us consistently deliver exceptional products to our clients. This position will be based out of our office in Calgary, AB.

What will you do?

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company’s Quality Management Systems.
  • Manage all assigned quality personnel.
  • Co-ordinate and administer all related quality requirements.
  • Seeks out solutions and resolutions for all quality related issues that arise in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Implement and maintain project-specific quality plans along with the required policies and procedures.
  • Identify and report any potential and/or existing problems pertaining to Quality.
  • Ensure accuracy of reports, recognizes trends and areas of focus needed.
  • Verify quality control checks, testing, and methods are performed and the required inspections of assigned systems are completed and properly documented.
  • Review and approve quality documentation and related records, project specifications and documentation and maintains a working knowledge.
  • Review and approve work packages before and after completion, with attention and understanding of the appropriate level of detail for the workplace.
  • Assist in coordinating and conducting management system internal / external project audits.
  • Coordinate post-audit activities including root cause analyses, follow-up and closeout actions and communicate responses and feedback to auditors, staff, and the management team.
  • Coordinate preparation of statistics on QMS performance and ensure on-time communication to management and staff.
  • Follow up on Corrective action and Nonconformance’s.
  • Other duties as required.

What will you bring?

  • 8 – 10 years construction/industrial experience with thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Post-secondary technical diploma or degree and experience in Quality Control programs related to ISO 9001:2008 compliant quality management systems.
  • Journeyperson Electrician or Electrical Engineering Technologist.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards.
  • Ability to review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and specifications.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive team attitude.
  • Self-driven and motivated, while also working well in a team environment.
